# Chains

> Five chains. The slug, an alias or the network id works in every {chain} path and ?chain= query.

`GET /v1/chains` is the list. Anything else is **400** `bad_request`.

Chains are case-insensitive (`SOL` = `sol`). Answers always use the `id`.

## When `chain` is optional

## What differs by chain

* **Live trades.** Solana trades are streamed from the chain itself; EVM trades from an indexer's push feed. Both are pushed, never polled.
* **The `wallet` channel** is Solana-only. REST wallet routes work on every chain.
* **Native prices.** `/v1/prices` has `sol`, `eth` and `bnb`. Base and Robinhood Chain use `eth`; the `native` field of `/v1/chains` says which.
